Blog relaunch

If you've visited this blog recently, you may have noticed the new theme and a few other tweaks to content. (If you are reading this via RSS/Atom, you'll just have to trust me.)
So what is knowquestion, you may be asking? Simple: knowquestion is my new consulting venture offering specialist Information and Knowledge Management services. To start with, I will be focusing on providing support for agencies making the switch to using SharePoint + RecordPoint as a records-compliance platform. This is an area where there is increasing interest, but not a lot of expertise out there yet.
There are a number of reasons for me making this change at this point in time. However, a major one is that I see change is coming. Federal government agencies are being asked to achieve fully-electronic recordkeeping by the end of 2014, with some still stuck in the print-to-file mentality of the 80s and 90s.
I believe that the traditional paradigms of recordkeeping have been shown to be broken, and that a new way forward is needed. You could do worse than read the knowquestion publication listing 7 Myths of Australian Government Recordkeeping to understand my position on the matter.
If in the next 2-3 years I can manage to positively influence how government agencies evolve and enhance their recordkeeping capabilities to match the needs of the 21st century – even a little – I will be very happy.
Our expertise in complex systems analysis, combined with a deep understanding of technology and modern, agile management and leadership techniques makes knowquestion uniquely positioned to find strategic solutions to your tough problems. Contact us today.
